  Local units took part in various projects as part of the Changing the World Project. 2nd Hinchley Wood Brownies did the Kick Asthma project and raised money for children with severe asthma to go on holiday. Dittons District Rangers held a book aid event in a tepee and 3rd Hinchley Wood Guides did a tea party for Save the Children and a summer sizzle in aid of the Hospices.Rainbows did the Woodland Trust.There was also a District Thinking day based around an Island Cafe for the Branch Association. 1st Hinchley Wood Brownies did the World Wildlife Fund and found about Fairtrade.

Guiding has been around for 100 years There have been various changes to the Brownie, Guide and Ranger programmes over the years, to ensure that Guiding keeps up with changes in Society.The programme changed for all sections in 1968, giving them greater unity,freedom and flexibility.
